So once they are in Social Folders I can put them on my desktop or save them to my computer? If that is the case then there should be no problems with losing them after deactivation. I’m not sure what would happen after you deactivate your account – but since you’ll have downloaded them to your desktop – you can always copy that folder and store it elsewhere on your computer – and see what happens. Let us know how it works out for you!

I would like to deactivate my Facebook account, but would like to be able to get all my pictures off of my account before I do so. Is there a quick and easy way to do this? If I use Social Folders will my photos still be there after I deactivate my account. And does Social Folders back-up the entire album at a time or does it back-up photo by photo? I’m guess my questions are clear as mud. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

That’s very true – although at least with Google+ you can use their own software (Picasa) to do that unlike the others.

Nice article.

I noticed 1 thing common in all the services that none of them provide a service/tool to download ur uploaded stuff, and the only way is to depend on 3rd party tools. Absolute shame

Never ever forget that in some cases the upload of a picture to a service passes the rights to that picture to the site’s owner. Sounds weird, but that’s how i.e. Facebook does it.
