I mix several language-related online/distance jobs: teaching, online exercise authoring and translations.

With the last two I could get up anytime I wanted, but my teaching is with students who live on the other side of the world.

So now I get up at 5am fours day a week and 6.30 am on Sundays.

I usually get started working anywhere between 9-10am. I like to do some writing in the morning - articles, blog posts, newsletter.

What you mean to say is that it's much better FOR YOU. Not for everyone.

I work full-time from home. To avoid being taken advantage of I keep strict hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm with an hour lunch from noon to 1:00pm. My staff knows I won't answer the phone or e-mail outside of this window. Now, of course I do "check" e-mail all the time (because the iPhone just makes it so damn easy) and I'm always researching and learning on the Web after hours -- but don't all techies do that?

I write for a tech magazine website. I'm online from about 8am, and get to the office about 10.30. I usually stay there till about 7pm then travel home and get back on the laptop for another couple of hours. And, there's no blinkin' overtime!

Most of my on-line 2nd batch jobs stop coming at past 11PM
so that's when I really start work, and by past 2AM,
sleepiness will force me to bed. So I get about more than
5 hours of sleep and start work again by 7.
Then the first batch of jobs rush at 8 and I continue
mostly for more than 2 or 3 hours.
