You’re probably a busy person, with all sorts of useful things to do with your time. So, what you really need for your Android is the sort of casual game that will suck away several hours at the bat of an eyelid, right? Well, sarcasm aside, casual games are actually a good thing for busy people. It means that when you do have a moment spare, you can get straight into something mindless and fun, letting yourself relax quickly and easily.
So, now that you’re convinced that a casual game is a good idea, it’s time to check out something free and fun that you’re bound to love: Gem Miner. It may take you a minute or so to get the hang of it, but then you’ll be hooked for a good while. Plus, it’s free. You want it, trust me.
Get Gem Miner on Android
Your free Gem Minder application can be found in the Google Play store. It’s a relatively small app, since the levels are all randomly generated. Plus, you can stick it on your SD card to save space. In other words, there’s no good reason NOT to try this game. Got it now? Right, moving on.
Starting Out
When you first start the game, you’re offered the option of having a learning guide. Take it, as it will get you up and running really quickly. It lets you know just enough about what’s going on at just the right times. Within a few minutes you’ll have worked it all out.
Playing Gem Miner
The basic play involves digging through the mine searching for gems, adding supports and ladders when required, then heading back to the surface to sell your gems before you run out of stamina. It’s an easy enough concept and really easy to do.

So, what keeps you going? It’s that casual gaming drug-like addiction to making things easier on yourself and exploring the next area. Once you’ve sold your gems you can buy stuff, you see. Things like: more supports; ladders; a bigger bag; lights; survival kits; lifts; mining gear; and all sorts of things you’ll want/need as time goes by. Strive for a few of these purchases and the hours will slip by unnoticed by you. I’m sure you know how it goes.

When you’ve completed a few levels you’ll open up new challenges and can get even more involved in the game. I’m guessing you won’t be able to stop yourself trying. The challenges have specific aims and will reward you with special medals.
Game Overview
Gem Miner is a simple, yet charming little game. It’s small, but packed with just enough features to feel like a much larger game. The artwork is cartoon-like, yet detailed and interesting. The game itself is addictive and fun, so you should be able to get straight in and enjoy yourself. Plus, you can easily play for a great many hours with increasing complexity. Try it for yourself!
