Hi there. Thanks for the comprehensive feedback. It will be interesting to see how you map some of this to the GIMP functionality.

As for the links, I'm sorry about that. I never realised it was any sort of a problem.

My suggestion would be that you bookmark the <a href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/picasa-101-thinking-outside-the-box/" rel="nofollow">last</a>post in the series, as it contains links back to all the others.

I hope that helps.

I finally got a good digital camera from Santa a few months ago, so this entire editing process is new to me. I've done some image scaling to better facilitate Emailing photos I've taken, figured out how to crop, and adapted Karl's (AtA) highlighting technique to the GIMP. Oh, and I added a text layer to a screen shot, having adapted someone's PhotoShop tute.

In all honesty, I have only had a chance to briefly look over the materials in these Picasa tutes, but I like what I've seen and am eagerly looking forward to applying the ideas to the GIMP upon my Linux machine.

There is, Jim, only one item of criticism I can offer, and I offer it only in a constructive manner.
When I began bookmarking your series, I had an issue with Firefox telling me I had already bookmarked the items. No, actually, I had only booked the first one, at that point. The part that confused Firefox was that all the articles were entitled "Picasa 101". Possibly the addition of "Part 1, 2,..." would have been a plus, since the series has no internal link to the rest of the series? I have prefixed my bookmarks of your series in this way, as a workaround to the Fox's confusion.

Thanks for the work you have done.
