Q: Can I take one part from my favorite song and make it my ringtone?
A: Yes, phonezoo lets you do it.
How does it work?
1) Register, 2) Upload your music track to Phonezoo, 3) select a part you like and save it and 4) forward ready ringtone to your phone. So as long as there is a music track on your PC you can get a free personalized ringtone for it. Tool for creating ringtones is quite simple and straightforward, just make sure to upload file less then 12 MB in size and in supported format (MP3 WAV,AAC,M4A and WMA).
There is no limit on the number of ringtones you can make, each one can be set either public or private. Public ones can be viewed, rated, commented, tagged and saved to profile by other members. Which means as a member, apart from your own ring tones you also get access to all public ringtones created by other members.
There is only a small BUT …
Each ringtone created on phonezoo can be either set to non-copyrighted or copyrighted
status. And while there is no restriction on non-copyrighted ones which can instantly be mailed to your phone, for copyrighted ones you need to have copy of the original music file before you can get them. Which really doesn’t change anything, because if you already have the file you can create ringtone for it anyway.
Things to Consider
- Ringtone can be max. 20 sec long.
- UNFORTUNATELY only our US readers can enjoy this service at the moment.
- Some phones and carriers are not supported (see here)
Phonezoo is quite new and not crowded yet but I am pretty sure that’s not for long. I saw a number of vool ringtones already, just check out most downloaded or top rated lists.
Still thinking of Yahoo Ringtones? :-)

Hi – just wanted to let you know that we are looking into expanding into other markets besides the US in the near future. We are working on it, but can’t commit to specific dates just yet. Check the Phonezoo site in the coming weeks for more information. Thanks for the nice review.

thanks for the website
amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing
you totally rock dude
It is free as long as you have the songs on your PC. I dont know why you got charged 20.00 but that has never happened to me and i have used this website for the past 3 years.
Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but i’ll try anyways lol.
For some reason some of the ringtones I have made will not be set as Ringtone IDs. Meaning its on my phone, but I can’t set it so that it goes off when a certain person calls/messages.
Ive noticed that they all tend to be over 100KB. Must it be under that for it to work on my phone? And if so, what do I do to get it under 100KB? Shorten the time? -very confused-.
Other than that, I’ve found Phonezoo completely free and easy to use. It’s a great site and I intend to use it for quite a while. <3
Whoops, sorry I meant under 200KB, not 100.
