Another great product of web2.0 era is Pandora, an incredibly cool service with awesome user interface. Pandora let users listen to their favourite songs and discover similar genre songs.
How it works?
It is very simple, all you need to do is to create so called radio stations. To create a radio station following guidelines provided on pandora.com. Interface is very nice and straightforward I doubt you will experience any trouble doing it. Start with entering your favourite song, artist or album.
If something is not clear for pandora (i.e. the album name you entered corresponds to more then 1 artist), it will provide you with choices where you would have to select one. Once done, pandora will create a radio station. This rado station will play similar tunes to what you have searched and along the way play what you have searched as well.
For example; if you have used ‘Bob Marley’ to create a radiostation then pandora will create a radiostation named Bob Marley and play Bob Marley’s and some similar in style reggae songs.
This is very nice way to listen to music because you actually discover many more artists and songs similar in genre to what you like.
Users can create multiple radiostations and easily change from one station to another using Pandora’s web based online player. Since your account is accessible online you can use pandora from several locations other then your home. It will be neccessary to register though in order to be able to access your radiostations from multiple locations. But no worries, registration is fast and free.
Some features that are available for each radiostation:
For each playing song you have 3 options that you can see displyed below:
By presssing on menu there are several nice things you can find out about the song including the places where you can immediately purchase it.
That is all for Pandora…You may also have a look at a slightly similar service called Blogmusik.

[...] Eventhough these two services have lots of different features they both function as personal radio channels. On pandora you can create dynamic playlists (aka radiostations) by simply entering favorite song, artist or album. For instance, try creating radiostation using keyword ‘eminem’ and you’ll get dynamic playlist with mainly hip hop artists including eminem(more on pandora). When it comes to Musicovery there is no option to create playlists but on the other hand you can specify what you would like to hear by selecting genre (reggae, hip hop, pop, …), mood (energetic, calm, etc) and even specify time frame (60s, 70s, …). Coolest part about Musicovery is its amazing graphical tool displaying similar songs around whatever is playing at the moment, definitely check it out. [...]
