Almost all modern web browsers support tabbed browsing. While opening multiple tabs is convenient, opening a lot of them takes a toll on the system’s resources and you experience your browser’s performance being slowed down. You might keep those tabs open nonetheless because you might need them later either to view the content or to share them with others.

Here to offer you a helpful solution for this problem is a tool for Google Chrome called OneTab.

share open tabs

OneTab is a free to use browser tool that comes as an extension for Google Chrome. The function of OneTab is to let you easily group your open browser tabs together and share them with anyone you want. After you install this extension you will find a new icon placed in your browser’s address bar. Clicking on this icon closes your tabs and creates a grouped list of them.

You can then share the entire group via a direct URL with friends. A QR code is also provided to easily share the group of links with smartphone users. When the group is opened you can either open all tabs together or click on individual tabs to open them.

Because the tabs previously in use are closed, the grouping of tabs into a list like this speeds up your computer’s and browser’s performance by freeing up the memory.

Features:

  • A user friendly browser extension.
  • Compatible with Google Chrome.
  • Lets you share open tabs as a list of URLs.
  • Provides direct sharing link as well as a QR code.

Just saved me some 400 MB of RAM... on Firefox!!! Wow! From 1360 MB down to 950 MB. It even keeps the tab count. It says 49 tabs! Which is about right. I'm a tab whore! I normally have a dedicated extension for counting the tabs for me, just for fun, but OneTab has that cover for me. Great! Thanks for the tip!
