I had mistakenly assumed, when Facebook added Jabber connectivity, that the statuses available via Jabber would be honored, but this is incorrect. When invisible on a Jabber connection, my tests show you are usually treated simply as online (in some cases you’re treated as entirely offline — I haven’t tried to really determine what additional factors might cause that).

I would definitely like to see invisible properly supported, but the lack of this feature is surely an intentional attempt to direct online culture as usual from Facebook, not an oversight. Unless there’s some significant public outcry I wouldn’t hold my breath for the feature.
