There appears to be no shortage of browsers for the Android platform, and now there's a new kid on the block from China, called Next Browser. On first glance it looks a bit like the mobile version of Chrome, with a single field for searching and entering web addresses, tabbed browsing and a customisable "speed dial" start screen.

The browser is of Chinese origin, a fact that's fairly obvious from the official website and Google Play description. The team appear to have created an interesting product that brings some well thought-out features to Android users, such as extensions which includes support for Evernote, Facebook and Pocket among others. There are gestures for navigating tabs, a top sites area for accessing your most frequently used websites and even in-built voice search.

Perhaps most importantly the browser is for the most part smooth and doesn't appear to lag too badly. Developers included some smooth animations which look great along with steady scrolling and a very usable UI. There is also an built-in RSS feed reader, making Next Browser a powerful tool for those who want an app that can do it all. Check out the browser in action in the video below, though be warned: the worst backing music ever was used in this video!
