After previously making its synchronization process 4x faster, Evernote released this Thursday new updates to it iOS apps that allow users to customize the sections and color of the home screen, and to optimize for better sound quality of audio notes.
Users can now choose from three color selections, light, dark, and classic green. The selection is made by tapping on the settings gear button, and selecting customize the home screen. The company says this was a much-requested feature after the launch of the iOS 7 redesign. This feature is available for free, premium, and business accounts.
The New Notes buttons, for adding text, photos, reminders, and lists, were also redesigned and now appear at the top of the homepage, instead of the bottom, and are larger and more visually appealing.
Settings options also now allow for adding, disabling, and rearranging sections (Notes, Notebooks, Shortcuts, and Tags) of the home screen, so users can access more quickly the sections they use the most.
The new update also sets the audio note quality to optimize for sound or file size. In addition, users can now automatically save scanned business cards to their Contacts list. The option for scanning business cards is initiated by tapping the camera note button and sliding left on the screen to select the business card scanning button.
Evernote says that this update also includes a number of bug fixes and numerous stability improvements, including the problem of audio notes saving corrupted files in certain cases. They say the latest updates are geared toward making the iOS apps simpler, better and more reliable.
