Yes, mainstream news providers are guilty for suffocating us with their unrelenting, dystopian view of the world but by the same token, too much time suckling from the tap of fringe news providers with a purely utopian endorphin-releasing agenda is blinkering too.
(It’s the news equivalent of happy pills).

I suppose asking for balance is just asking for too much.

Hey there – I stumbled on this a bit late, but just wanted to say thanks for including Gimundo! As someone mentioned, the site was down for a few months, as the company that owned it had folded – I worked for them as editor, and wrote the vast majority of the content, so I was very sad to see it go.

However, last month, my husband Jeff (a web designer/developer) and I purchased the site, revamped it, and relaunched it, and are very pleased to say that Gimundo is back! We are running it in our spare time and paying for expenses out of pocket now, but it’s a mission we truly believe in, and we plan to keep it going and making it better than ever.

Please stop by again and check out the site, and let us know what you think of Gimundo 2.0!

Sorry for the self promotion but I think you didn’t quite capture the full scope of Optimist World.

We too send a weekly newsletter and we too have an Optimist TV section with inspiring video clips.

Users can upload their own stories and have profiles that show whatever articles they have submitted or commented on.

Soon the user profiles will have Optimist ratings â€“ points that are being collected for activity that can be exchanged for products and vouchers etc

…and of course not to forget the most important bit â€“ we give prizes to charity … there is a weekly voting for charities and there will be annual charity of the yeasr award with cash prizes for smaller and medium size charities.

Yes, timing to start a good news project is not ideal, but it can work and we have to be optimistic, right?

Yeah, I was sad to realize the same thing (after I wrote the article). As hard as it is to admit, I think the majority of people really WANT to hear only bad news. It looks like Gimundo fell victim to the same ecomonic pressures that has burdened everyone these days. I would love to say, “say it ain’t so”.

Could it be true, that all we really want is more bad news?
