It always takes a lot of discussion and negotiation when you have to meet up with several people at a convenient midpoint between your locations. To save you time and hassle, there is nifty service called Mezzoman. It is a simple web map mashup for locating mid points between two or three locations.

Just enter yours and the locations of the person (s) you want to meet with and it will give you a number of midpoints along with nearby food joints. You can also narrow search criteria down and get only the locations that match your food preferences (Pizzeria, Chinese Food, Ice cream, Indian etc.)

Mezzoman - Meet in the Middle

Once you have entered the addresses and entered a criteria for the meeting place, click on the “Mezzoman Go!” button. You will get a bunch of results on the Google map right in the middle of your supplied addresses. Click on a place to get its name, address, contact information and driving directions.
If you are not happy with the results click on the “Search again!” button to try another search with different search criteria. You can use it from your browser as well as from your smartphone on the go by downloading their app on your device. Currently it supports iOS and webOS mobile platforms.

Another similar service is HappyMedian. The only difference is that HappyMedian can find midpoints for up to 4 locations.

  • Finds a midpoint between up to 3 different addresses
  • Choose a convenient meeting place by different criteria (restaurant, pub, fast food joint etc)
  • Available for iPhone and WebOS mobile platforms
  • Free

    Hey guys,

Check out the new version of, it now follows roads, something none of the competition can do. It also has weather, an approximate address of the mid-point, and a result size chooser.

Give it a try I think you will like it.

For RailsRumble 2008 this year, a 48 hour programming competition, we released an app similar to this called

It's more of a visual mapping interface, works with an infinite number of points and suggests different venues for meeting.
