Memedroid – An Awesome Way To Kill Time On Your iPhone [iOS, Paid Apps Free]

memedroid iphoneMemes are one of the most important things on the Internet. Sure, you can use the web to find important, potentially life saving information, but that is all overrated, as the meme is what truly makes the web go around. After all, looking at funny pictures is the reason the Internet was actually invented.

Okay, so that’s all an exaggeration, but memes are definitely hilarious, and they are a big reason sites like Reddit and 9gag are so popular. Well, if you own an iPhone, you will love the app known as Memedroid. It is also available on Android, but I will be focusing on the iOS version, as that is the device I own, and the one that is on sale. It allows you to have a blast browsing the most hilarious memes from its massive community of users. It has a slick user interface, and it’s just downright easy to use.

Best of all, you can grab Memedroid free from the App Store for a limited time. I usually costs $0.99, so this is your chance to waste hours of your life browsing memes without spending a dime.

Using the App

You can use the application without an account, but if you want to enjoy all of the features, you should take a second and click the account button and sign up. It will only take a few seconds, and it grants you many more features that make using the app more enjoyable, but we will get to those later.

You can browse memes in a few different ways using this application. The first option is to click “Gallery.” In here, you will be able to see an assortment of the latest memes shared on the service by the community. You can also click “Top Memes” to see the highest rated memes of all time within the application.

When you are viewing a meme, you can click the happy face to give it a positive rating, and the rage face if you don’t like the meme. You can see a score for the meme based on the number of people who have rated a meme positively.

There are three buttons on the top right of the screen, and each of them has an important function. The first button looks like a speech bubble, and clicking that will bring you to the comments section in the app. The next button is where you will come to share the memes you find on your favorite social networks. The last button lets you add a meme to your favorites or report it to moderators.

If you go to the second page of the app, you will see some cool features that are designed for people with an account. Clicking “My account” will show you statistics for your usage of the app, and Memeedals gives you achievements for doing things within in the app like looking at a certain number of memes.

The ranking section in the app allows you to see the top users of the app. Seeing the scores of some users is quite impressive. Some people have a lot of time on their hands….and that’s all I am going to say about that.

The settings screen allows you to control what kinds of memes you see and in what languages. You can also make it so the app automatically hides any memes that you have seen before, so the app will feel completely new every time you launch it.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a fun way to kill time on your iPhone, Memedroid is the perfect app for you. The community is incredibly active, so there is always a lot of new memes to look at. The iPhone version does not have the ability to upload memes to the service yet, but the developer is working to add it. The Android version already has this feature in place.

Even without that feature, this is still one of the best meme apps on the App Store, and the fact that you can grab it free for a limited times makes it well worth a download.

I only just figured out recently that the word is pronounced “meem.” I kept thinking this was something from France where the word “meme” is pronounced “mem-may” and means Grandma, because the meme faces all look like wrinkly old people.

Is “memory is good to keep your memory in trim” a good excuse? ;)
