Jason MayoffWelcome to Make Use Of podcast number 2, entitled “Beer, Lederhosen and Twitter”. Mark’s last two words cracked me up. I’m sure the neighbors heard it, did you? ;)

I have a bit of critique for this one. Is there a better way of timing the talking, like not breaking in on each other? It’s a bit annoying for the listener and takes away quite a bit of time. I know this might be difficult, but I’m sure it can be worked out!

Other than that it was another great podcast! Loved the part about twitter. Thanks guys!

Tina - we were breaking in on one another because of Skype. There were time delays in hearing one another. We weren’t being rude in interrupting each other or anything. It was just the bad Skype line.

And the “bye Mum!” thing was totally unscripted and totally spontaneous. My mother is totally moved by it. She said to me today that she doesn’t understand all the “internet stuff” but she loves how “her son is saying goodbye to her over the internet” ;-)

And just for the record, I don’t really talk like that. I am actually a very quietly spoken, soft spoken laddie. Skype amped my voice up to a loud cackle! :-)

Hi Jason (and rest of makeuseof),

I really liked this podcast (I think even better then previous one, which also was good):
What I liked about this podcast:
    - Length: I think the length is good. Not to short, not to long(I think it may be as much as 1 hour max, but this I think is even beter).
    - Chitchat: Just talking about computers but not all to seriously. Talk about what you like at your computer and don’t like and just chat about it…
    - Conversation: I like that you have conversation with other members of makeuseof.com, but I think it would also be cool if you had other interesting people on skype or any other voice program.
    - Not too seriously: I like it that you guys aren’t to seriously. I liked that you tried not to be to way too serious which can be very boring. I liked both you and Mark O’neill
    - Sounds professional: Like a lot of other people have said you sound professional and try to edit so that it sounds professional.

What I think could be improved / (I would like more ….):
    - More podcasts: I would like to have more podcasts (Not have to be a half hour. I think 15 minutes would be nice too) :D. I know I am greedy.
    - User interaction: I think it would be nice if you guys would play user questions and answer some of them.
    - discussion: I think I would like it there was more discussion. One person in favor of something other not. For example Firefox vs IE and why you should use 1 of the programs, but no flaming but just good discussion and not to long.

Okay my comment is going to be long so I will stop but I want to emphasize I allready liked your podcasts and will continue to listen.

    Greetings,
    Alfred Westerveld

Woohoo! I loved this podcast guys! Your discussion was really interesting covering a wide variety of things. Keep it up :D

User interaction: I think it would be nice if you guys would play user questions and answer some of them.

I second that request from Alfred. May be we can provide readers a way to submit audio questions?

    Guyz, great podcast!

    Enjoyed every bit of it.

I agree with Alfred and Shankar, though instead of takingaudio questions why don’t we invite people to join us live.

We can probably do that with Skype’s conference call feature. Good idea! :-)

Saying that though, the word “live” implies no pre-recording and having a live streaming show! Is that possible?

Yep what Aibek said would be great.

Really enjoyed the podcast. Already one of my favourites that I look forward to coming out. Couple of little things to improve if possible, could you have an RSS feed for the podcast only, I listen to podcasts on a Blackberry Pearl and found that on my media files list… no artist shows up (possibly your ID3 tag). Thanks for the podcast.

    Heya,
I liked the podcast because i share the same opinion as Mark about twitter and Myspace, also about firefox extentions :]
(i primary use Opera browser, and only testing the betas of the FF)
The only thing i’n not on his opinion like him is about google stuff like the rss reader.
I’m kind of not big fan of recents google inventions, and only use google for search and mail, nothing else.

    Best of luck ;p
