I only downloaded KANTARIS to view some media files that I wanted to watch, but seemed unplayable. However, I found I was using it gradually more often, now it is the only Media Player I use. There may be better Media Players out there, but KANTARIS is all I need at the moment.

I like VLC. I use it at work (with XP) and at home (with Vista), but I have the same delayed pause issue in both computers. I will try Kantaris now.

I downloaded this Wonderful PLAYA on 05/15/09 – 4 days before it was posted on This Hot Site!

Kantaris is the ish!
The Ability to play my music DVD’s smoothly sold me Quickly on Kantaris.
(A couple of the very expensive paid media players caused my videos to stop and go during playback)

That was my assumption also, but my friend who runs a completely different PC setup on XP Professional 32bit is having the same issue. I’m on Vista Home Premium 32bit.

You seem to have mixed things up here. If something is open source, it doesn’t mean it’s necessarily platform independent. What you should have said is “Unlike VLC, which is platform independent, Kantaris…”.

I’d suggest RAIsoft Total Media Player cuz it’s known to be the best internet media player and Desktop media player….mostly cuz it has LIVE TV and Youtube

It still has the pause issue that VLC does, i.e. when you click to pause it first stutters ahead one second and then pauses. Only reason I still don’t use VLC. WMP 11 does it’s job admirably.
