I believe it is a random selector. I put in a short story written in crime noir style and it said I wrote like Gertrude Stein. Then I put in a breezy blog paragraph and it said I wrote like Cory Doctorow. To make sure, I pasted in a long paragraph from Edward Gibbon´s memoir, written in the 1700s and it said he wrote like a certain modern science fiction writer. I stuck in a passage from Homer and it said he wrote like James Fennimore Cooper. Would you trust your manuscript in the hands of such a sharper? Thumbs down.
