If you’re a digital magazine subscriber using Amazon Kindle, Apple Newstand, or Zinio, Next Issue, a new digital magazine subscription app for the iPad and Android, might well be a better deal than all of them. A $9.99 or $14.99 subscription to Next Issue gets you not just one magazine subscription but unlimited access to the distributor’s entire catalog, including popular magazines such Wired, Esquire, Fortune, Real Simple, People and much more.
Next Issue is a joint venture between five leading U.S. based magazine publishers–Condé Nast, Hearst, Meredith, News Corp, and Time Inc. A monthly subscription includes access to back issues and selected articles of any magazine in the library.
Next Issue offers a free 30-day trial subscription, which you must first register for on the company’s online site. You will be automatically charged for the Unlimited Plan if you don’t cancel within the free trial period.
After starting your subscription, you can sign into your account via the app and select the magazine you want to browse and read. The digital magazines are optimized for tablets with special features and include in-app video and Internet links, bonus photography and interactive features.
To select and view magazines, you tap the +Change Selections button on the homepage of the app. The magazines you select will be added to your library. From there you can select which issues to download to your device. You can also select prior issues of magazine selections. To unsubscribe to your magazines in your library, you need to the Change Selections library and deselect the magazines you subscribed to.
