Yeah, i think patience is always rewarding. Though I find it more appliable to physical goods like gadgets/consoles/TVs/etc than web apps. On the web, the most popular app is no ecessarily the easiest to use, the fastest or the best looking one, usually it's the one with the crowd (often the very first one to launch).

@Jose
Glad you got back to us! I agree that the site is organized. I think the kinks will get worked out as more and more people begin to use your site and send you feedback. If I could make a suggestion, I think you would gain a lot from either having a Twitter (or YouAre account) with someone that takes questions (Digsby does this) or someone who regularly gets on AIM at a certain time of the week and takes questions (like Flock). Like I said, just a suggestion.

Hi jimmy, thanks for your interest. Let me take the oportunity to answer some of your questions you did by email. With the power of our domain, we want YouAre to be the place to organize your identity and the identity of those you might be interested in. Thta's why we also have the professional profile option. We will add diferent activity sectors, you are right on that. That's why we also filter or give the option to filter the updates based in the type of contact chosen when following someone (seen the "filter updates" link in your home).

We already have a basic API. We believe the interface is clean eventhough you might be right that we need to work a little bit on it as we have more options than we thought we we started. But we believe everything is organized. The most important part is the way of publishing content... and the speed.

To be honest we are not running to launch youare.com. We have been developing since Summer 2007. We most likely open at the end of the year for everybody. But we want to do things right.

New isn't always better. I always take a patience-is-a-virtue approach to these things. Just like when a new gaming console is released. Everyone jumped on the Nintendo DS when it first came out and encouraged me to do the same, but I waited and was eventually rewarded with the DS-Lite.
