Don't know why but now I can get it to the correct USB icon screen but now I'm getting unable to find device. I have been attempting the webOS doctor as per instructions but it always says:

Connect your device directly to your computer with your USB cable.

Do not remove the battery or disconnect your device during this process.

It is plugged in, and I have tried multiple cables still to the same effect. Full battery too : /

Hmm, something not right there. From time to time a HPTP will not allow you to dismount correctly, but there are several things you can do, such as hold the power button to force it, or restart your PC.

Bootloader/recovery mode shouldn't be a black screen, and I'm not sure why you're getting this - I would recommend a visit to the webOS doctor!

Once this is done, try again.

When I follow all the steps up to installing android and getting into recovery mode I have this issue. When I safely remove the USB HP touch pad, my touchpad stays on the USB connected screen instead of returning to WebOS. So when I restart the device to recovery mode I just get a black screen and when I try and type in the command to begin the installation it just says device not found. Any ideas? :) Thanks!
