Inline Search & Lookup is an add-on for Google Chrome that could save you a significant amount of time when you are working on the web, especially if you are doing research for something. It lets you perform searches on Google or look up meanings of terms without leaving the current browser page you are on. It shows the results in a pop up window.

The cool thing about this tool is you can specify your own sources for searches & word lookups. For instance, you could have Wikipedia pop up when you want to know more about a term. As you can see in the screenshot below, there is an option to enable and specify keyboard shortcuts for the tool.

I use Google Desktop, a pop-up which opens results in a new tab. I also keep Translate and WordReference open as tabs. Going back and forth from tabs to my current browser page is quick and effortless. In your experience, is the Inline Search and Lookup add-on quicker, or more versatile?
