Have to say that this has got to be the best social media for me thus far. I see it as an online scrapbook which really fills the need to browse magazines for ideas etc. As well as being able to catalogue ideas bucket lists and wish lists, memories of places etc. Whilst I have seen more girly posts I must say some of the architectural and interior designs by males are amazing. I like the fact that there is the chance to share with others in a non threatening way! I think the creator of this is very clever. Well done

I think it also speaks to interaction/learning styles. Pinterest offers a more reflective atmosphere – you aren’t thinking of how you are interacting with people, you just are through your interests. And you don’t have to build deep connections or feel obliged to ‘follow’ or ‘like’ – everything just is – it’s perfect for the introverts in all of us.

It’s long been known that social networks attract more females than males, I wouldn’t say pinterest is any more female dominated than the others really.
