An Idiot’s Guide to Photoshop – Part 2 [PDF]

phosho2Have you ever wanted to fool around with the more sophisticated image editors, like Photoshop? Chances are, you have, but you didn’t know how to start. Starting the application for the first time can be wholly intimidating and even right out discouraging for newbies.

We already published part one to the Idiot’s Guide to Photoshop in 2009. This time, we’ve worked with Azamat ‘Bohed’ E. from TrueKolor.net to ensure an equally useful sequel to the series. MakeUseOf is proud to be able to present An Idiot’s Guide to Photoshop – Part II.

Learn how to work the various image editing tools by heart. This guide aims to bring Photoshop novices one step closer to image editing mastery.

You can use layers or drop a shadow in most photo editing applications. But there’s a reason why about every professional uses Photoshop. Once you pass a certain level, those other applications won’t suffice anymore.

Is there any free version of Photoshop?

A free version, no. But you could try Gimp or Paint.NET as free alternatives.
