I have been using Microsoft’s Live Writer (Beta) for over 2 months now and I love it. My main reason that I probably use it for is that it’s not web-based. This allows me to work whenever I want on it, without browsing from one site to the other and fears of losing any information (WLW saves drafts just like MS Word). My other main reason for using it is that it allows me to publish to 2 blogs at the same time, with minimal steps.

Never heard of it, but soudns good. I am quite surprised Microsoft made it free.
Well,
it sounded good, and I downloaded it. Installation was a bit weird, with those little popups in the right hand corner of the screen, and the little sly attempts to change my homepage to MSN and so on . . .
Well, it doesn’t work with a Mac OS X webblog using the standard Mac OS X software. Wouldn’t even connect to the blog. So, for me, it would be useless.
I uninstalled it. Didn’t even get a chance to evaluate the software on its merits.
I am too short on RAM these days, so I prefer sticking with standard wordpress admin.
I tried live writer about a year ago, but wasn’t crazy about it. At the time I preferred scribefire but not tend to just use the admin tool in the blog.
Sorry Smaugg, I guess it would definitely be too much to ask Microsoft to make the product work with anything Mac related. Note though, that the Beta 2 came out at the end of April, so Sara, hopefully sooner than later all the bugs will be gone.
