The popular video steaming service known as Hulu has just received a huge update that offers users a brand new look and adds some features designed to help streamline and optimize the process of finding entertaining things to watch on the service. The new update is not rolled out to all users yet, but fear not, because you can get access to it now via new.hulu.com.

The first change users will notice is the overhaul to the look of the site. The landing page is much prettier and cleaner than the old Hulu. While the look does not offer any function per say, it certainly gives the site a more aesthetically pleasing design and features certain programming more prominently.

The top section of screen scrolls through a series of featured shows and really draws your attention. This area is mainly designed to feature the most recent episodes of popular shows from the previous night, but it could be used for anything.

The big functionality change comes in the form of Staff Picks. Hulu says they focused on two questions when they re-did the site: “How can we make it easier for you to find and enjoy the best TV moments on your computer? And how can we surround those moments with the most beautiful, elegant and innovative video experience on the web?”

The folks at Hulu felt that too much great content was not being seen. So with that in mind, they created a section where they can highlight some of the best videos. The Staff Picks section is featured prominently on the main page and can also be found in the newly updated browse section on the top of the screen.
