Battlefield 3, one of the biggest video games of the year, has received a large patch for the PC. The update comes in at about half a gigabyte. The list of improvements is long, and much of it seems to be exactly what hardcore Battlefield players were looking for. Many of the principal ones involve fixing issues that caused the game to crash for some players. The “black screen” error should now be fully resolved, and joining games will be a lot smoother.

They have also made substantial improvements to the squad management screen. EA removed the “Find me a Squad” button and now lets players join any squad they want, including an empty one. They also made the squad selection screen more organized and easier to navigate.

Dual monitor support is vastly improved with this new update. Some Nvidia graphics cards were experiencing issues with the games graphics, and that appears to have been addressed in this update as well.

They have improved spawn points, so you should not spawn right on top of an enemy. When you start cooking a grenade and die, the grenade no longer disappears and will drop to the ground and explode.

Overall, there are 33 updates and improvements with the patch. Check out their official blog for a more detailed breakdown of the changes.

The FULL Battlefield game isnt released til January, didnt you know? just another rushed game by the EA juggernaut. Why do we pay 60 for a new game that isnt technically finished when everybody could buy them for 40 used or new a couple months later... And fully working i might add. What happened to te essential updates like flashlight glare, VOIP and visuals. What were your testers doing? Suckin their mommies teet instead of mentioning valid flaws. Next time spend millions more on FINISHING yur game on time instead of pumping nonsense onto our tvs and internet ads. Heres a cheesy line, if you build it, they will come. So BUILD something fully cuz last i checked, a job half done is definitely a job not well done. So pull yur heads out you drowning rich fools. Thats my two cents through all this BF bs all year, peace.

I hate to admit it but this is kind of true. EA likes to cash in on their player base.

The chat window is still a major annoyance and should of been fixed.  The Battlefield Bad Company 2 chat window was ideal.  The BF3 chat window has received a vast number of complaints, not sure why it was not fixed.
