There's got to be something like that out there. If there isn't, then you know what kind of software to develop!

There is software that runs on local area networks to do things like that. But I don't know about remote locations.

I like the idea of having my customers computers contact me when their is a problem. I wonder if there is anything that will email me when they get a virus. It would be neat to call them before they call me.

Great post, Guy...and rebuttal.

I simply wasn't able to get email alerts working with SpeedFan. Now I get an email when/if an event is triggered. In my case, it's whenever SpeedFan shuts down my computer due to overheating or equipment failure (water pump for liquid cooling system).

So far, no emails. Thank goodness! :)

I appreciate your concern for my security. Yet, since anyone can follow my profile to my website, they'll find that my e-mail address is guymcdowell@gmail.com. Anyone that uses Gmail will know that the username is the same as the e-mail's prefix.

As for how many characters are in my password; what makes you think I used my real password? Really, I'm not that foolish, contrary to what my lawyer says.

Good job makeuse, you showed a screen shot of the guys email, login name, and how many characters his password is. You might want to DR. that image.

As for the article, very cool idea. I might want to try this
