Oh my gosh! I can't believe I missed that! There's actually no greasemonkey script you need to install ~ All of the available ones basically do the exact same thing that the extension does (since the extension is basically a compilation of the most popular gmail scripts)
I'm sorry for the confusion! ><

Have finished working my way through Part I, and just started reading Part II. I could not find where we installed any Greasemonkey scripts in Part I, and I searched Part I and could not find where there was a call to install any Greasemonkey scripts. What did I miss?

So I suppose it's just a matter of those Gmail users who are not so self respecting, then.. XP

Its true, these tips are pretty common knowledge and have been around for ages, but it's not so much that you CAN make a label or a filter (because... well.. that's obvious, isn't it?) , but what to do with labels/filters so that they combine to create an effective over all system.

I love how you used FREECYCLE as an example. I have a FREECYCLE label/filter as well as I moderate the Somerville, MA group.

It may just be me, but it seems like all the "tips" in this particular chain (series?) are things that pretty much every self-respecting GMail user already does.
Even my mother, who I hassled for years to make the switch to GMail and Thunderbird from Hotmail and LiveMail knows how to do all of these things.
