Google makes it difficult for a self-hosted WordPress Blog to get verified. This plug-in, AOF SEO Site Verifier WordPress, from http://www.affiliatesonfire.com/articles/aof-seo-site-verifier-wordpress-plugin/ does the job for Google, Yahoo!, and MSN. You might also want to read WordPress information on meta tags, how to edit your php pages to create meta tags, why meta tags are important, etc: http://codex.wordpress.org/Meta_Tags_in_WordPress.

I am totally confused about the next steps which weren’t mentioned in the article. With both Bing and Google, I was then asked to insert a meta tag into the home page for verification. I am using a WordPress blog and cant find any way to edit the html to insert this tag. How do you do it?
