		<description>@Pax: Yes, winproxy is a shareware software and it is a pretty old piece of software, but it works quite well. And it is one of the easiest that I&#039;ve seen to work with. It isn&#039;t a proxy that you can deploy for your organisation but for home users, and casual surfing, it&#039;s quite adequate. I use it myself.

There are several other software which do a similar function, of course, but I haven&#039;t used them myself -  freeproxy and 3proxy look like the better ones of the lot. 

If you want an industrial strength proxy, you can give &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.squid-cache.org/Download/&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Squid a try&lt;/a&gt;.
