GotFreeFax.com is another website that lets user send free fax online to the US and Canada. User can either upload a PDF/Word file or enter text to fax. Plus, it does not add Ads to the fax, which makes it more suitable for faxing formal documents.

A small correction on the name of the technology behind Qipit. Qipit, Inc. is a 100% owned affiliate of Realeye3D, S.A, this is the name of the company, not the technology. The Qipit scanning engine uses the Realeyes3D Visual Cortex and Deblurring technology for a process we call Ink “Extraction”. These are all the algorithms that run in the background to process the images.

The value Qipit adds is to turn photographs into scan quality images, eliminating the need for a bulky traditional scanner or a land line to use a traditional fax. Qipit runs patented algorithms that take a dark photograph of written or print information and create a crisp clean ink-on-white digital copy. These easy-to-read copies can be printed (using less ink) and shared. You can email it (as a PDF), fax it, publish it online (with a unique URL) or even embed it in your blog. In addition to scanning documents, Qipit is also used to capture whiteboards, flipcharts, expense receipts, you name it and someone is probably using Qipit to copy it.

This differs from services such as Fax Zero and eFax in they are intended as a fax service. You need a scanner or to create a document (such as Word) on a computer to upload. They have done a very good job of streamlining that process, and they address a different part of the market. Think of Qipit as a free mobile copy, fax and scanning machine in your pocket and eFax and FaxZero as a fax service to use in conjunction with your computer.
