Windows Mobile 6 is my mobile OS of choice (sorry Blackberry fans, I really hate the closed-source nature of the Blackberry!). I keep all of my contacts synced to it via ActiveSync and basically keep my life organized with it. Via Twitter I heard someone talking about My Mobiler… so I had to check it out, and I was pleasantly surprised!

So why would one want to control their Windows Mobile phone from their desktop?
The list goes on and on. My Mobiler does all this and more for you. It is an application that installs on your Windows Mobile phone and lets you control it from your desktop. The mouse works like a touch on the touchscreen and the keyboard works as an input device. It works via ActiveSync or by IP address to give you multiple options of connecting, giving you the ability for wireless free (wifi) access to your phone.
In addition to raw control of your device, it also allows you to take screenshots of your phone, as well as create a video recordings of your mobile screen. Copy and Paste works as it does on your desktop. A file browser is also included within the program, which makes it easy to upload files to your phone.
I would recommend this program to anyone who has a Windows Mobile device.

Ajay,
Check out PocketVNC. Using this VNC Server on your Windows Mobile device will allow control from any system with VNC Viewer (which is just about anything!)

You mean the Blackberry is a “closed platform.” Windows Mobile is also “closed source,” in the sense that you have to sign an NDA and fork over money to see the source code. But it is, like most Microsoft products, an “open platform” which is intended to allow third parties to build innovative applications on top of it. Blackberry is closed platform, and iPhone is mostly-closed-platform.
Many journalists don’t understand this distinction, and blithely go around writing about how such-and-such-an-innovation was “only possible because of the open-source revolution.” Where did they Photoshop came from? Fully sprung from the brain of Steve Jobs?
