this is VITAL. I consider myself a power user with anywhere from 20-50tabs open at once and had been using control-tab which allows a similar feature: press control+shift+A to display ALL tabs. it also offers key commands such as: control+tab to switch to the next tab, or control+shift+tab to go back a tab. (recommend that for sure). I’ve also been using speed dial since the day I found it after google chrome was launched as they use the same idea built in and I really liked having it as the homescreen and using the shortcut commands (control+’#').

the best part of this feature is the customizing and the SEARCH bar it opens which will get you straight to the tab you need quickly and easily by eliminating the non-relevant tabs. (you can search for containing letters/words within the tablink names)

Actually I prefer Ctrl+Tab Addon much more (also at addons.mozilla.org). It’s also supported by Tab Mix Plus. The main advantage is that you can “search” for your tabs. I. e. you have a thumbnail view AND you can just type Ctrl+Shift+A (or Ctrl+Q) and go ahead typing e. g. “MakeUseOf” to find this tab. So you won’t even need your mouse. And besides this: It looks very nice

Although not an addon, BonzoBox (www.bonzobox.com) gives similar convenience:

BonzoBox is an interactive web tool that allows people to build their own customized “BonzoBox” home page with links to their favorite websites.

Still in beta but works well. No charge. Yet.
