It tracks more sources than any other people search engine, so it returns detailed findings for more than a billion people online — everything from blog posts, social network profiles, photos/videos, even shopping wish lists. Very helpful to find out what information is publicly available about you.

I agree, using real name and address in publicly available sites is dangerous. I try to avoid that unless I absolutely have to.

Advice for newbies. After the initial spat of internet users who migrated off arpanet, hardly anyone used real names as addresses. Those who were smart continued in that practice.

Using your real name on the internet, unless you are selling something or a publisher, is foolish. Posting your life, such as it is, on line is even worse. It smacks of narcissism and evinces a basic lack of self-reliance.

The only thing worse is actually using a bluetooth handsfree earpiece while perusing the canned goods aisle in a supermarket.
