Marking them as a compilation doesn't seem to work, but while I was there, I noticed the 'Sorting' tab.. if you select all of the tracks and select the same 'Sort Artist', it seems to group them all together in iTunes at least. I haven't tried syncing with my iPhone yet but it looks promising! :)

Personally, I would keep the artists' names. What you *could* do is tag the albums as compilation (right-click songs in the same album, Get Info -> Info tab -> Check 'Part of a Compilation'. You could also make specific playlists for them to sync over to your iPhone.

I have all of my music meticulously named, sorted, tagged, scrobbled, and loved. However one thing that has always annoyed me is compilation albums and how they fit in. For example, I have a few Ministry of Sound albums, and every track is by a different artist. This means when I am browsing through my artists on my iPhone or in the quick browser in iTunes, those artists are sprinkled all through the rest of them, which becomes a bit annoying. What is your solution to this? I could change the artist to 'Various', but I don't want to lose the artist's name.
