GiantBomb.com is, without question, my favorite video game website 3 Video Game Review Sites You Must Look At Before Your Next Purchase 3 Video Game Review Sites You Must Look At Before Your Next Purchase Video game reviews are more important than a review of any other entertainment category. This is simply because video games cost a lot more than a movie or a CD. When you are trying to... Read More (besides our content at MakeUseOf, of course). While other sites are focused on reviews and news, Giant Bomb locks in on the lighter side of gaming with some amazing video content (although they still put out some more traditional content).

When I think of Giant Bomb’s videos, the first that comes to mind is the Quick Looks. In these, the crew sits and plays a section of the game for our enjoyment. Generally, when I watch these, I prefer to watch videos for games I will never play. I don’t want spoilers for games I will sit through, and these games I won’t play tend to be pretty dumb, which in turn leads to more hilarious videos.

Some of these videos feature Ryan Davis, who passed away in July. With that in mind, I would like to say: rest in peace Ryan, you will be missed by the entire gaming community.

Euro Truck Simulator 2

Unless you’ve always dreamed of driving an 18-wheeler, I would venture to guess that you have no desire to play Euro Truck Simulator 2. However, watching Vinny (who barely understands how to drive the trucks in the game), play it is highly entertaining. Watching him play it while Drew and Alexis look on and mock everything he does is even better.

The video is well over two hours long, which might sound like too much truck simulation, but once you dig in, you will be sad that it’s over. Some of the stuff that goes down with Vinny and the AI drivers is just awesome. It’s easily one of Giant Bomb’s funniest videos to date, and it’s perfect, because you don’t have to worry about spoilers, since you will never actually play this game, and even if you do, you won’t mind seeing a bit of the riveting “story.”

Wipeout: The Game

Wipeout is an American television show where contestants attempt to make it through obstacle courses, and they usually end up getting destroyed in the process. Wipeout is a Wii game with very poorly implemented physics. This, of course, makes for a game that you most certainly don’t want to play. However, watching others with the level of personality as the guys on Giant Bomb (Vinny and Ryan in this case), turns it into something very enjoyable.

Watching them struggle through the game is funny, and their commentary on the action as it unfolds adds a lot to the experience. It’s not a long Quick Look, but it feels like just the right length to portray the insanity that is Wipeout: The Game. If this isn’t enough for you, you can always check out their Quick Look of the sequel, which isn’t as funny as the first, but it’s still pretty hilarious.

Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012 Trains Vs Zombies

Move over Plants Vs Zombies Plants vs. Zombies 2: Does Going Free-To-Play Mean The Death Of The Series? Plants vs. Zombies 2: Does Going Free-To-Play Mean The Death Of The Series? Since EA has taken the reigns at PopCap, Plants vs. Zombies 2 has been released for free. By free I am referring to the game being free to download initially, with plenty of in-app purchases... Read More , because the trains want their chance to battle those pesky undead. Actually, they don’t really battle at all. Instead, nothing much changes between the zombie infested version of Train Simulator 2012 and the regular one. That doesn’t stop Vinny, Ryan, and Drew from trying to make something interesting happen. It also doesn’t hinder their goal of breaking the game in as many ways as they possibly can.

Like Wipeout, this Quick Look is not gargantuan in size, but it’s packed with quality entertainment. If you are a big fan of Train Simulator, be prepared to have your game made fun of a great deal. For the rest of us, the ridiculousness of putting zombies in a train simulator is funny enough, add in the Giant Bombs style of humor, and it jumps to another level. Seriously, zombies and trains? Who thought that was a good idea?

Conclusion

If you like video games, and you like funny videos, you will adore these Quick Looks. No need to worry about spoilers, because it’s unlikely that you want to play the games anyway. Even if you do, they aren’t story-based games, so there is nothing to ruin! Seriously, watch these videos, as it’s a perfect way to spend a couple of hours if you want to laugh and have a good time!
