I fully understand that it’s community driven. I’ve tried running a wiki of my own for a particular game in the past–it’s hard work. Hopefully it sees more volunteers in the future. :)

Well, here we differentiate between community content and developer content. The wiki is maintained by the community. Anyone who is on the site and asks for wiki access is given it. That unfortunately means, well, not much love.

You’re right! The interface does look better on a larger resolution, but I still have to say that the interface is quite ugly. Maybe it’s a stylistic choice on the part of the developers. I personally just don’t like it. It is a shame that it’s so scrunched on 800×600, though.

The interface is definitely squished due to playing at 800×600.

Try using the Frontend fullscreen option to free up a few more pixels of vertical space.

The config screen and the room screens suffer the most. Even 1024×768 is a big help.

There are so many games out there that deserve more attention, and I agree–Hedgewars is one of those games. It could definitely use a lot of polish in terms of interface, but the gameplay is fantastic. It’s a shame that most people will be scared away by the primitive interface.

I’ve played this game for a year now. I play everyday for about 20-30 minutes (I may be addicted). I don’t like playing with a low resolution, it makes everything look crowded like in your screenshots.

As for the number of hogs, well that varies by level. The largest can take up to 48 but the more modest levels might only take 12. Medium to large are the most commonly played.

I’ve always thought of Hedgewars as the best game that nobody knows about. It would be great to see some new players on the server.
