If you're a console gamer then there's a good chance you've played GTA V by now. In fact, there's a significant chance that you've finished the single-player mode and have moved on to GTA Online. There's a lot to do in the multiplayer mode too, perhaps enough to keep you entertained for the next few months. It's an addictive game. In the same way drugs can grab you and refuse to let go, so can GTA V and GTA Online.

Even when you're not playing the game for whatever reason, you'll still be thinking about it. Thankfully there are ways to stay connected to the world of GTA V even when you're not sat in front of your TV. One of which is taking the time to watch YouTube videos related to the game. Having done just that, we have compiled a list of 10 of the best GTA V videos released so far; all embedded below for your delectation.

It should go without saying that some of the videos are NSFW and not suitable for minors. GTA V is rated as an adult game, and the videos reflect that. You have been warned...

GTA V: In Real Life

This is billed as a GTA V review but actually isn't anything of the sort. College Humor cleverly published this just ahead of the release of the game, thereby fooling people into thinking it was real. The video plays on the claim that GTA V is the most realistic Grand Theft Auto game to date. It is, but thankfully not to the degree suggested here.

GTA V: Dangerous Prank

There are those out there who have accused GTA V of playing on racial stereotypes and being a bad influence on society in general. This prank, which you really shouldn't try at home, runs with that idea, as a brave stupid guy asks random strangers if they'll help him kill some people. The vast majority turn down the invitation.

GTA V: Top 10 Things To Do

Part of the joy of the Grand Theft Auto games, as with other sandbox titles, is going off-mission and just doing random things. But what? This video suggests 10 things you should definitely try. It's billed as Part 1, so there are likely to be more things to do in GTA V videos coming in the future. If so, they'll appear on the Machinima YouTube channel.

GTA V: Glitches Compilation

Very few games are delivered bug-free these days, especially as developers know they can just patch any major issues. Sandbox games are notoriously prone to glitches, and GTA V is no exception. This video pulls together some of the more impressive glitches seen in Grand Theft Auto 5, and while they're all funny, some will surely give you nightmares.

GTA V: Dumb Ways To Die

In 2012, a brilliant viral video showing dumb ways to die, which was actually a PSA for Metro Trains Melbourne, did the rounds. Now, someone has made a parody/tribute/cover using GTA V as inspiration. The singing may be a little flat, but the examples of dumb ways to die in GTA V are all very fitting and funny.

GTA V: Fail Compilation

Fail videos are always fun, as long as no one gets seriously hurt, of course. Thankfully, as GTA V is only a game and not real life, no one can get hurt, even mildly. Which means we can watch people flying planes into buildings or driving motorbikes off mountains without feeling even the slightest tinge of guilt.

GTA V: Meets Mythbusters

Is it possible to jump out of a helicopter and survive the fall without a parachute? Or knife a shark that's attacking you in the ocean? Maybe not in real life, but things are different in the world of GTA V. If only we could get the Mythbusters on the case. Oh wait, we can. More episodes of this series can be found on the DefendTheHouse YouTube channel.

GTA V: Online Frustrations

GTA Online was plagued by problems when it first launched two weeks after GTA V was released. Which is what you get for trying to accommodate millions of people all trying to play the same game online at the same time. This guy documents his early attempts to get GTA Online working, and it's an extremely funny tale of frustration and woe.

GTA V: Online Mayhem

Not everyone had trouble getting GTA Online up and running, and when those lucky individuals did so they were able to enjoy extreme amounts of fun. This crew of friends run amok in the game, killing each other, driving big rigs, and basically showing off some of the best things GTA Online has to offer.

GTA V: Timelapse Video

We finish with a video showing the softer, more subtle side of GTA V, with various parts of the game's environment given the timelapse treatment. Not only is this strangely beautiful and mesmerizing, it also demonstrates how Rockstar creates living, breathing worlds that we, via on-screen characters, merely visit temporarily.

Conclusions

These are the best GTA V videos to have been made within the first few weeks of the game's release, but there will surely be more produced over the next few years as people get to grips with GTA V and, especially, GTA Online. If the game is then released on PC, expect mods and hacks to up the ante considerably as they did for GTA IV.

Have you played GTA V and/or GTA Online? What do you think of the game? Do you consider it one of the best Rockstar games of all time? Or have they done better previously? Which of these videos did you like and which did you dislike? As always we're keen to hear from you, so feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
