My sister has one with the rounder tip for her iPad, and when I used it, I didn’t find it to be quite as accurate as my finger.

Sometimes the stylus responds better than a greasy finger. Great when reading tablet during lunch!

Without getting too technical, these styluses have a conductive tip, which turn them into sort of an extension of your fingers.
