Google Updates Hot Searches With Trending Topics & Statistics [Updates]

Google has rolled out an update for its Hot Searches page, where you can find all the hottest topics people in the U.S. are searching for. Hot Searches is part of Google Trends, a service which provides insight into people’s interest in various topics, based on Google searches.

Hot Searches is not a new feature, and has been providing the 20 hottest daily searches for quite a while. This update is quite an overhaul, though, and it now offers much more than a mere 20 hot search terms. When you go to Hot Searches now, you’ll see a topic-based list, including images, of the hottest topics from the last few days. The list aggregates related search terms and news items under one headline, so you can see at a glance which topics are really hot right now.

The Hot Searches list is updated on an hourly basis, and is based on an analysis of millions of searches conducted in the U.S. When you look at a hot topic, you can immediately see how many times this topic was searched for in the 24 hours when it was trending, and access relevant news stories relating to this topic. If you’re interested in what was hottest 3 days ago, you can scroll down the page to find all the hot searches of the past.
