Most Internet users know how to go to Google and type in what they are looking for and get some results. For most instances in daily life, this is perfectly acceptable. You will probably find the site you are looking for, and everything will be great. That being said, there are instances where you may need to use advanced search techniques to find exactly what you are looking for, and that is why Google is bringing back their Power Searching class.

Power Searching is a free program from Google designed to teach users how to use its advanced features to become better at finding things on the Internet. This is especially useful for people who need to search for things for school projects and the like. In these situations, not just any results will do, and advanced tactics are required.

Power Searching starts on September 24th. Interested users can sign up for the free classes right now. It is a community-based course that features six 50-minute classes and plenty of interactive activities designed to improve overall Google searching prowess. The classes are available over a two-week period and upon completion, all students will receive a certificate.

Anyone interested should go to the sign up page and join as soon as possible. Good searching can be a very useful skill to have, and gaining those skills for free is even better!

Is there anything taught that hasn't been covered by tech blogs before? For example, I know most of the ways you can limit search results (like using quotes to search specific phrases and the minus sign to prevent words from being included), and I don't want to take these "classes" if I wont learn anything from them.
Normally I would say "just go for it anyway, you can always learn something" but my time is being taken up by college classes now, so I don't really have much time to take more online classes.
