Traveling is a stressful activity. While lounging around at a warm Cancun resort or enjoying the beauty of the frosty Swiss Alps is something that most of us would love, the actual preparation and planning that goes into such a trip is often a nightmare. Airports have a reputation for being chaotic and frenzied, but now there’s an app that can help take the edge off.

GoHow Airport is an app developed by Sapient Corporation that helps you explore the world’s airports in a comprehensive manner at your own convenience. There are a number of features that separate GoHow Airport from its predecessors and competitor apps, so if you’re a frequent flyer, then you’ll want to keep reading.

How GoHow Airport Works

I would like to describe GoHow Airport as a one-stop app for all things airport-related. That is to say, if you’re in an airport and you have GoHow Airport on your device, then you won’t need anything else. I rarely fly–having been to an airport only once in the past five years – but I’ve resolved to keep this app on my phone. That’s how good it is.

GoHow Airport has two main purposes: the exploration of airports and the checking of flight statuses. In the midst of all the chaos and frustration of a busy airport, GoHow Airport relieves a lot of that stress by giving you all of the information you could ever need right at the tips of your fingers.

Exploring Airports

Exploring an airport in GoHow Airport is quite simple. You pick from a list of available airports (there are thousands of them, including all major ones). From there, you can explore almost everything there is to know about that particular airport.

GoHow Airport is impressive because all of its data comes straight from the airports themselves. By partnering with airports around the world, GoHow Airport has access to information that is as accurate as it will ever be. You can rest assured that you’ll never be out-of-date with this app.

You can view lists on:

  • All of the shops and stores in the airport.
  • All of the places to eat inside the airport.
  • All of the locations for services.
  • Parking and transportation information.
  • Local places around the airport for when you need to kill time.
  • Local accommodations in case you need a place to stay.

Finding Flight Information

The other half of GoHow Airport – and arguably the more important half – is the ability to keep up to date on flight statuses. There are two ways to do this.

The first way is to search for flight status by route. In other words, you pick an airport, a departure date, a source airport and a destination airport. With all of that, GoHow Airport will spit back all of the relevant flights according to your parameters. From there, you can pick out the one you need and check up on it. This method is useful when you need to get somewhere and want to choose from a variety of flight options.

Because of the nature of route-based flight information, the route-based search can only be used if the departure date is within the next two days. Otherwise, you’ll be stuck using the other method.

The second way is to search directly by flight number. You pick a departure date and the specific airline of the flight. Combine that with a flight number and you’ll get the exact flight you were looking for. This is particularly useful when you’re about to fly somewhere or when you’re waiting on someone to land.

Conclusion

Keep in mind that you’ll need WiFi or 3G/4G capabilities on your device in order to use GoHow Airport. This is because the app is always updating itself based on the data being pushed by airports. Most airports have WiFi available nowadays, so that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

I think GoHow Airport is an awesome addition to anyone’s library of apps. You never know when you’ll find yourself trapped in the flurry of a busy airport. When you are, I guarantee that you’ll wish you had an app like this.
