Those are very useful links, thanks. Also there are other image hosting services which are paying you when someone views your pictures. But those are very good if you do not want to share your pictures to whole internet.

2007-03-22 11:18:08

ImageShack has a 100 MB per hour bandwidth limit.

Personally, I’m a big fan of Fotki. I’ve done a writeup on them here: http://frozenpixels.wordpress.com/backups-part-2/

2007-03-22 12:04:06

thanks Bill, I had no idea abt per hour bandwidth limit. Also checked out Fotki, looks good.

http://www.imagepile.net is great too as it has a FireFox extension to easily upload pix.

2007-03-22 22:21:07

quick summary for imagepile.net:

* Upload Options: from file or URL
* Max. file size: 3072 KB
* No Bandwidth limits or storage limit
* firefox extension for easier upload

2007-03-22 22:24:59

@TJantuen:
“…image hosting services which are paying you when someone views your pictures”

Wow, that’s sounds interesting, can you post couple of links?

2007-03-23 20:14:29

@Bill
thanks, I am checking it out. I was just wondering how much do they pay…

I have searched all over and finally settled on a site that costs me 5 bucks per month. But it meets all my needs so it is worth it since I do post manyh photos. Why this site?
1. grab at least ten pictures at a clip (2) adult photos allowed(3) show exact size you will get along with the code to use (4) offers small, medium, large, very large–different size thumbs to pick from when you upload. I prefer larger photos at my site so this is much better than most other uploaders.
you can try it lots of times, free. then you either subscribe or can no longer use it
http://www.glowfoto.com/batchupload.php

2008-11-17 17:04:32

Agree! I have been all over the place looking for what glowfoto does. Needed the 10 at a time, easy to copy and paste; variety of sizes to choose from; simple to use. Nothing rivals this for my needs.

2007-03-24 18:08:11

@fred lapides
While I agree that some people may wish to upload photos which maybe bigger then 1.5 MB, I think it’s rather inefficient way to share your photos. A page featuring couple of such images will take several seconds to load which is generally quite annoying.

Nice list.:)

But i think you should add http://www.poggu.com

http://www.MultiShack.com is an easy image hosting solution for everyone. Have you ever wanted to share a picture with a friend, or many friends, yet didn’t want to go through the trouble of creating an account at other image host providers, or resorting to something as inefficient as email? With this website, you can easily upload any image from your computer and share it with anyone in the world! The image is stored on the MultiShack server indefinitely.
After uploading an image, the website generates a link to your picture. Copy and paste this link anywhere you want, such as a chat client or message board. In fact, http://www.MultiShack.com automatically generates the necessary bbcode ([img] [/img]). All you have to do is copy and paste, and the image is instantly viewable.

2008-10-09 09:10:49

For FREE photo storage, DotPhoto is the best. It is unlimited in size (pixels) and numbers of photo we can upload. And speaking of FREE photo storage and sharing, I opt WEBHSOTS. While Flick just allows 200 images, Photobucket just allows 1GB for free members, webshots, in my case as a free member, provides more than 5000 images and adds 100 every month. GBU all!
