Although there are many free fonts available online, many of them are restricted to private non-commercial projects. Developers spend a good deal of time looking for free fonts which can be used in commercial projects. Now thanks to “Font Squirrel” they will no longer have to spend hours looking for the fonts they need.

When you click on any font you get information about its number of downloads, upload date, designer, classification, and category. The fonts can be downloaded in TrueType format (TTF). Font squirrel was just the thing I was looking for. But as priehl said, some readers might mistake '@' for a email address.

You know, now that I've been following (and benefiting from, thank you) this site for a while I remain appalled at the way you do your best to hide the link to the actual page - burying it at the bottom of the article, then putting '@' in front of it so it looks like an email address (as is common for contacting the author of an article). Why not just put the link in white type so the user has to run the cursor all over the screen to find it?
