If you are working on your next e-book or publication, you’ll probably find it difficult dealing with layouts and the final design for your material. Whether we work with books, newspapers, or magazines, having a solid layout that we can visualize from cover to cover is a must. Fortunately, we have Flatplan, a simple web-app that allows anyone to design, develop, and collaborate on publication layouts quickly.
Working with FlatPlanApp starts by creating an individual flatplan – a document that will be the blueprint of your publication. A flatplan is anything that you want it to be. For example, if you are publishing a book – you can change the number of pages, change the layout of the page with preset options, drag and sort individual pages, and even color code each page based on priority and status. All this is done on-the-fly with the help of a clean and simple interface.
The strong collaboration features of the app allows you to work with your team on multiple flatplans. You can set a deadline for each Flatplan into Basecamp, and add comments to each page within a flatplan. This make it very useful for companies with a regular publication cycles and deal with quick timelines.
Flatplan is a cool tool for small publication companies, school newspapers, or any organization who needs a slick workflow for creating publications. Flatplan is currently in free beta.
