This is *so* awesome; ty so much for this article. I had NO idea about this amazing feature of Firefox and now I can’t live without it!

My quick searches are for Amazon, IMDB, Wikipedia, Huffington Post, Copyblogger, Dictionary.com, Thesaurus.com, and Make Use Of (I’m a writer/blogger, in case you couldn’t tell ).

I can’t thank you enough for turning me on to this great & so helpful feature!!

One more: I discovered this works for the tinyurl.com “make tiny” box, too. So now I can type “tiny” and then a copied URL, and bang, it’s tinyurl’ed.

I was playing around with this and reading the comments, and I found a great way to search all CraigsList sites at once:

1. I setup a keyword search for Google, but I called it “CraigsList” and used “cl” as the keyword.
2. Bookmarks >> “CraigsList”, except right-click the bookmark and select “Properties”.
3. Change this part of the URL – q=%s – to this – q=site:craigslist.org%20%s – and click OK.

Now I can type “cl ipod” in the awesome bar and get every hit for “ipod” on every CraigsList site there is.

This is basically a slight twist on DHunter’s comment, but with all due respect I thought it wasn’t explained well enough for a relative noob like me, so I thought it was worth posting again.

I can’t live without quick search. I probably have 3 dozen quick searches.

Google, IMDB, Delicious, Wikipedia, Amazon, Thesaraus, Answers.com, Zip Codes, Digg, YouTube, Weather.com, Amazon MP3…the list goes on and on. I amazingly have most of them memorized too.

anyway, a good one that i added is yahoo answers..
in order to search for questions without having to go to the website first.
