Using this simple time-saver, it’s possible to save large chunks of text to a directory of your choice without switching between applications.

Once installed simply highlight a portion of on-screen text, right click (control-click on a Mac) and choose the “Save Text To File”  option to save to a user-definable directory. The add-on supports a wealth of options including adding the page URL, date and time stamps and the option over whether to create new files or use existing ones.

    I have been looking for very long time for something similar:
    I would like to save highlighted text to html files, instead of simple text files, but have not yet find a FF addon that does that.
    if you ever run across something like that i would be very grateful, if you write an article about it.

    meanwhile thanks for this addon, I will try to use that instead.
