If you are a Windows user, then you have probably encountered situations in the past where you are unable to delete a file from your computer. There are many reasons why you may not be able to delete a file; it might be used by another process, it might have too long a path, the name may be invalid, etc. To solve this problem, give FilExile a try.
FilExile is a handy utility that allow users to delete locked files that cannot be removed by any other way. FilExile does not add itself to the Windows context menu. Instead, to make use of the program, you need to open the FilExile software itself.
One of the best features of the software is that it has a safety mechanism built in, which prevents the accidental deletion of important Windows system directories like the user or Windows directory.
Just use the software to target the file or directory you want removed and click “delete”. The file will be removed, even if another process is using the file.
Under the “Settings” menu, you can shift to “advanced mode” to delete even those important Windows directories and files. However, only do that if you know what you are doing.
- Simple and easy to use.
- Removes files that are being used by another process or which cannot be removed for some other reason.
