If you manage a Facebook page for a website or company, the new update for Page Manager on iOS should make you quite happy. The main feature of this new version applies to Apple iPad users. For whatever reason, the old app did not support usage in landscape mode, but this new update has rectified the situation. It is more of a convenience move, and won’t really change the way you do business on Facebook, but it certainly looks nice.

The next part of this update applies to both the iPhone and iPad versions. Eligible brands can create Facebook offers for their fans directly from the application. This can save brand owners a ton of time by not having to go to their PC or Mac when they want to offer their followers a special deal or promotion. No matter where they are, if the mood to save people money strikes them, they can create an offer.

The final major feature of this update is the ability to write longer statuses. If you like posting longer thoughts to fans of your brand, this feature should make you quite happy. Facebook has not said what the actual limit is, but we are assuming it will be the same as on the full site.

Of course, this update includes the usual bug fixes and performance upgrades. They never describe what these are, but fixing bugs is always a good thing.

What I don't understand is why fb for Android still sucks. The guys over at facebook know it sucks, they acknowledege the fact that it is useless, but still we are stuck with it. Sigh.
