Why don't you try Free DVD MP3 Ripper obtainable from Jonix.com to extract direct in MP3 format and then use Nero Wave Editor to cut and paste. If you don't want to use Nero then use Audacity. THe only hassle in this instance will be that you will have to save and then convert to MP3 again I have had the same problem extracting audio in mp3 format from DVD.
