Although data from your social media profiles is readily available, it is hard to export it to formats that you can instantly use for analysis. Export.ly is a nice web app that lets you quickly download your Facebook/Twitter profile analytics in a CSV or Excel report. This tool essentially becomes your source of raw data for your social media campaign.
To use Export.ly, just enter the username of your social profile. The app will check out your stats and convert the data into an Excel file that you can download. The file contains nice data like location and timezone of followers and friends, number of tweets, website URL, and more. Facebook stats included in the file could also include Fan Page activity, user engagement stats, comments per post, and top posts.
The strongest feature though is not that you have a chart in Excel, but instead you are given the complete list of your followers in Excel format, including their names, URL in their profile, last tweeted, number of followers and friends, and more. This combined with your e-mail list gives you a very strong database of potential customers that you can fully engage with. The feature also works on profiles that you do not own, allowing you to get the names of people that engage your competitors.
Export.ly is free for up to a certain quantity of data. Export limit for Facebook is 1,000 posts while the limit for Twitter is 10,000 users with payment plans scaling up to $250 per export. This is a very nice tool for social media marketers who need the most basic data for their analysis.
